Once upon a time, you rarely saw interviews like Biofiles in newspapers or magazines. Since Scoop created the innovative feature in 1992, similar Q&A's are seemingly almost everywhere now.

But as they say, "...the original is always better than the..." Ah, you know the rest.

The self-proclaimed and proud pioneer of puff-piece profiles -- Hey, you don't get nowhere being humble! -- loves every sport but especially boxing and tennis. One-on-one mental and physical warfare is sports at its best.

Born in Philadelphia, Scoop grew up revering Roberto Duran, Bobby Clarke, Paul Holmgren, Pete Rose, Dr. J, Rocky Balboa, Ali, Frazier, Foreman and Norton.

Having correctly predicted (on the record might I add) that Tarver would KO Jones and that Lewis would KO Tyson easily, Scoop now considers himself a boxing expert -- despite having once lost money by actually betting on Marvis Frazier against Mike Tyson. His first book Heavyweight Armageddon! Lewis vs. Tyson: The Inside Story About The Biggest Money Fight In Boxing History is set to be published in 2008.

The Teaneck, NJ resident has written Biofiles for The Ring, Boxing Digest, fightnews.com, Boxing News U.K., World Boxing Japan, The Fist (Australia), Boxing World (South Africa) as well as The New York Post, New York Daily News, Orange County Register, MLB.com, The Sporting News, NASCAR Scene, Tennis Week, Track & Field News, Full Contact Fighter, Hockey Digest, Basketball Times, Don King publications, and The Daily Racing Form.

He hopes one day to do Biofile with President Clinton, Muhammad Ali, Tiger Woods, Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin, Rod Laver, Wayne Gretzky, Steven Spielberg, Marcelo Rios, Charlie Rose, Jerry Seinfeld and Mike Tyson. And if they ever invent a time machine, Scoop will Biofile Elvis, Charlie Chaplin, Jack Dempsey, Babe Ruth, Jackie Robinson, Princess Diana, Al Jolson, Ernest Hemingway and Boris Karloff.

You may have read Biofiles in such publications as: Tennis, Hockey Digest, NASCAR Nextell Cup Scene, MLB.com, The Sporting News, The Daily Racing Form, The New York Post, New York Daily News, Eastsideboxing.com, Boxingtalk.com, Tennisweek.com, Tennis Week, Track & Field News, New York Giants publications, New York Sportscene, The Daily Record, Seattle Post Intelligencer, Orange Country (CA) Register, World Boxing, Boxing Digest, Boxing 2003, Boxing Update, Wrestling Digest, DirecTV Guide, Mets Inside Pitch, Reds Report, Full Contact Fighter, DIEHARD, Giants Insider, Jets Confidential, College & Pro Football Newsweekly, The Fist, World Boxing Japan, Boxinginsider.com, Tennisweek.com, NYSportsDay.com, Blueshirt Bulletin Magazine etc.
